About Will Wright
Will Wright has been rendering since 1989 — first building a substantial business in London, then bringing that experience to the Isle of Wight. Over 35 years he has worked across both markets, on everything from large London refurbishments and period townhouses to Island coastal properties and rural new builds.
Whether it's a traditional lime finish on a period property, a K Rend system on a new build, or a full refurbishment, Will brings the same approach he has always brought: the right system, applied correctly, built to last.
As both a London-experienced and Isle of Wight specialist, Will understands how render behaves differently across climates and property types — from Victorian terraces in the capital to coastal homes on the Island. The questions homeowners ask Will most often, answered honestly and in plain English.
A full re-render typically costs £3,000 to £8,000 for a standard semi-detached house and £10,000 to £20,000 or more for a large detached property. The final price depends on the size of the house, the render system, the condition of the existing walls and access. Will gives honest, no-obligation quotes so you know exactly what is included.
Wright Render covers the whole Isle of Wight, from Yarmouth to Bembridge and Cowes to Ventnor, plus the Hampshire coast around Havant and Portsmouth. For homes anywhere else in the UK, Will offers photo and video consultations from £49.
Yes. All render work is installed to the manufacturer's specification, which carries both product and installation guarantees from the system manufacturer and from Wright Render. A guarantee is only valid if every step, from preparation to the final coat, is done to spec, so none are skipped.
Yes, render rescue is one of Wright Render's specialities. Will works out why the original render failed, strips back the failed system, repairs the wall and installs a correctly specified, fully guaranteed replacement. You can see a real example in the Wellow project in the gallery.
Every system commonly used in the UK, including K Rend, Baumit, PRB, Fassa Bortolo, silicone, acrylic, cork, lime, and sand and cement. Wright Render is independent, so Will recommends the right system for your property and conditions rather than pushing one product.
For most homes, yes. Silicone renders such as K Rend are through-coloured, flexible and water-repellent, so they need no repainting and resist cracking and algae. They cost more than sand and cement upfront but usually work out cheaper over the life of the render, especially in the Island's salty, wet conditions.
Sometimes, but only if the existing render is completely sound and well bonded to the wall. Rendering over hollow, cracked or damp-damaged render hides the failure rather than fixing it, so Will checks the wall before recommending an overcoat or a full strip-back.
